Welcome to my Bloom High School web page. As a parent or student you will be able to check up on what is going on in my classes. Parents, if you click on the "Grades" button on the left side you can track your students' progress in my class (see below for more details). To tell you a little about myself, I am a 1999 graduate of Oak Forest High School and a 2003 graduate of Illinois College in Jacksonville, IL (BA in History). Recently I completed an online Masters in Education (curriculum and Instruction) degree with NOVA Southeastern University. I have been teaching social studies at Bloom High School since the fall of 2004. I am involved in the School Improvement Committee as the chair of the sub-committee for Classroom Walk-Throughs. I participate in the After School Tutoring program (Monday through Thursday 3:10-4:00 in the library) when I am not teaching credit recovery for World and U.S. History. I am also a teaching member of the Freshman Academy as well as one of the Teacher Leaders. I am located in room 207 just down the hall from the library. ................................................................................................... CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT: Click on the option to the right for more details about the Bert Simmons Classroom Management program being implemented in Bloom District 206 beginning in the fall of 2009. Also, download my introduction to how my classroom will run (it's a PowerPoint), ................................................................................................... GRADES: Students and parents are expected to check posted grades through the Bloom website. Grades will no longer be posted in the classroom. Click on the "Grades" button to the left and log in. You should be able to see all assignments.
